Local farmers and their families have been invited to get the latest information on farm succession and business continuity planning at a free three-part workshop in Adelong starting on Friday July 20.

Department of Primary Industries rural support worker, Di Pritchard, said the workshop would be delivered in partnership with the Rural Financial Planning Service and Relationships Australia.

"Farm families have let us know that they want more information about the succession planning process," Ms Pritchard said.

"The workshop aims to help families come together to start the process and make informed decisions which deliver the best outcomes for all concerned.

"Families who have already started the process and have hit hurdles or would like more information can also benefit from attending the workshop."

Ms Pritchard said participants would be guided through a range of topics and directed to information and strategies, including government programs and assistance, which would help them make positive estate and succession planning decisions.

"Land tenure, conveyancing, stamp duty, wills, power of attorney, business planning and managing your health and wellbeing will be covered," she said.

"The workshop will focus on how individuals and families can look after themselves and their relationships during the process."

The workshop will run for three consecutive Fridays, July 20 and 27 and August 3, from 9.30 am until 12.30 pm at the Adelong Ex-Services Club.

Participants should register by calling or texting Di Pritchard, 0417 231 852 or email di.pritchard@dpi.nsw.gov.au by Wednesday July 18.
