The public submission period for comments on proposed management options to promote the recovery of mulloway in NSW has been extended by four weeks until Tuesday 13 November 2012, the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) announced today.

DPI Manager Resource Planning, Doug Ferrell, said the extension of the closing date will ensure everyone has the opportunity to provide input on this important issue.

“Given the importance of mulloway to all fishers, the government is committed to providing an opportunity for everyone to have their say on the proposed management arrangements,” Mr Ferrell said.

"This public consultation period is an important step to ensure the best overall option is implemented.

“All options considered are outlined in a discussion paper available on the DPI website and I encourage anyone with an opinion on the management of this important species to have their say via the online submission form before Tuesday 13 November 2012.”
