Improve your fencing skills by attending a NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) PROfarm fencing short course to be held at Tamworth Agricultural Institute on Wednesday 5 September.

DPI PROfarm course organiser, Julie Chapman, said the one-day fencing course was ideal for people seeking basic conventional fencing knowledge and skills.

"It includes fence design, layout and types of fencing for different classes of stock and properties," she said.

"The course also covers the basic costs of fencing, fencing knots, straining fences, putting in posts, end assemblies and swinging gates."

Ms Chapman said this practical course would mainly be held outdoors and would be delivered by DPI trainer Allan Thomas.

The course costs $250 (GST free).

All participants in the fencing course will receive the Fencing Agskills Guide with photographs, diagrams and practical tips, and a certificate of attendance.

Registrations close on Wednesday 29 August.

To register please contact Julie Chapman on (02) 6763 1285 or Cassie Gardiner on (02) 6763 1276.
