Producers, including potato growers, and small businesses directly affected by flooding in the Upper Lachlan Local Government area in March this year are reminded Natural Disaster Relief Assistance is available.

NSW Rural Assistance Authority (RAA) General Manager, Steve Griffith, reminded producers directly affected by the flooding in March 2012 to contact the RAA so they can be assessed as quickly as possible.

“Loans to eligible primary producers of up to $130,000, at a concessional interest rate are available to those in urgent need,” Mr Griffith said.

“The Natural Disaster Declaration for the Upper Lachlan Local Government Area was announced by the NSW Government in March and was one of a number of local government areas declared.

“I urge potential applicants to call the RAA by telephone toll-free on 1800 678 593 to clarify their eligibility and find out about the application and payment requirements so we can get the process underway.

“We want to ensure the communities and producers receive the available assistance so they can get back on their feet as quickly as possible.”
