Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Deputy Director General, Michael Bullen, today announced the appointment of key director positions for Agriculture NSW.

“The newly-appointed executive team will be at the forefront of DPI’s new direction for agriculture and its long-term strategy to develop the State’s $9 billion primary industries sector,” Mr Bullen said.

“The team brings together extensive experience in cropping, livestock, education, regional services and research and development.

“This is an exciting time for agriculture in NSW as we develop Local Land Services and transform the delivery of services to farmers and landowners.

“Supporting the creation of Local Land Services, Agriculture NSW will work with farmers to identify growth and research and development opportunities and support the development of our valuable food and fibre industries.

“We are focussed on the delivery of research and development, strategic partnerships with key industry groups and the development of innovative and break-through cropping, livestock and horticultural production systems.

“The executive team will also oversee the 50 Industry Development Officers based in strategic locations around state, working closely with regional industries such as cropping, livestock and a range of horticultural businesses.

“Ten new cropping research and development positions have been created at Tamworth, Trangie, Narrabri, Wagga Wagga, Cowra and Yanco.”
