Our Number 55 edition of The Country Web has the theme After the Rains. It includes stories from our readers who have faced the many challenges of drought and floods such as those that devastated many small communities earlier this year.

Dayle Murray from Lightning Ridge tells us firsthand what it was like being surrounded by water after being cut off from 'civilisation' for five weeks.

You'll find some great tools and resources on looking after yourself after a disaster including tips to help stay on track and where to go for help if things start to unravel. There is also a useful article on home and contents insurance with practical tips to ensure you're fully covered for future flood events.

We profile some key rural women including 2011 Australian RIRDC Rural Women's Award winner, Caroline Robinson from Western Australia and founder of the 10thousandgirl campaign, Zoe Lamont.

There is a special 4-page central pull-out on this year's Rural Women's Gathering being hosted by women from Gloucester from 13-16 October. With a fantastic line-up of guest speakers and 55 workshops to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice.

So get comfy in your favourite chair, grab a coffee and enjoy.
